VOLUNTEER DRIVER TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS PROGRAM
The Council provides transportation to Needham residents age 18 or older through two separate programs, volunteer drivers and a courtesy van. We have 15 volunteer drivers who provide between 10-15 rides each week. Most appointments are in Needham, but drivers are willing to drive to Dedham Medical and Newton Wellesley Hospital as well. A person can request a ride to a medical appointment by calling the Council. The driver will pick up the person at their home and will provide assistance into the office if needed. The driver will either wait for the person or will come back when the appointment is finished at a pre-arranged time to bring the person home. There is no charge for this service.
